Caren, Are you sure ? My mom love to believe she is tall. Problem : she can't grow more vertical but she might be can achieve horizontal way : )

Priscilla said...

I like this saying and the picture very much, Caren. Thanks for sharing it.
It is so true that a lil tiny kitty can actually be as brave, big and beautiful as a lion!
It all depends on what we think and see ourselves instead of what others think and see us. Be confident and honest, with these two principles in our heart, we are happy and contented people.

Yay!!!
Something positive!
I feel very tired today as my eyes are all swollen. I have no idea why!!

It's true - I see a jungle panther when I see myself :) Thank you for coming to my birthday.

So true and very inspirational!! Thank you!! Take care

Caren Gittleman said...

@Mr.Puddy ohhh how you make me LAUGH!! You have to tell me about how your mom is gonna achieve in a "horizontal" way! lol. If she wants to be taller she can wear heels! See? It works? xoxo

@Old Kitty you are most welcome! xoxo

@Forever Foster I love that picture too. I remember YEARS ago a dear friend of mine gave me that card and I kept it on my desk at work forever!

Caren Gittleman said...

@Mr Pip, glad you liked it!

@Mario ((((((hugs)))))) THANK YOU!! You really, really touched my heart <3 <3

@Huffle, you're NOT a "jungle panther??" MOL! I thought you were! It was my pleasure to be at your party! I hope you had a great time!

Caren Gittleman said...

@Hilary I do too! I mentioned below a dear friend of mine gave that card to me YEARS ago and I kept it on my desk at work FOREVER!

@Lupie, yes I wanted something positive for bringing in the New Year...everyone has seen that photo through the years but I thought it was important to see again. Oh nooo! I wonder why your eyes are swollen? Maybe allergies?

Caren Gittleman said...

@Priscilla, "be confident and honest" I love your philosophy. So true! You know who I think of when I see the above quote in the photo? MIKA!!!!! xoxo

@Rumblepurr "ROOOAAAAR" back at ya!

@Mason and @The Chair Speaks, I find it inspiring and I agree too!

Isn't this the truth!

Pup Fan said...

Awesome! This should really replace all of those "Hang in There" posters from back in the day - much more motivational!

Oskar said...

Yep, that's true, I don't know that I'm a "little dog"!

Nubbin wiggles,
Oskar

The Cat From Hell said...

Ah yes! This is me! The Great Jungle cat! Thank yous for sharing how we see ourselves

Pumpkinpuddy said...

Love it!.It's very true, too.

Caren Gittleman said...

@onemixed bag, @cat, @Brian, @Pumpkinpuddy yes it is soooo true but so often we all (especially ME!) lose sight of this! I thought with a New Year approaching we all could use a reminder! :)
(((((hugs)))) to you all!

Caren Gittleman said...

@Nellie, YES! you ARE a "Great Jungle Cat" you pounce on that Kozmos!!! Kidding!! :)

@Oskar, EXACTLY!! In your mind you are a Great Dane! lol

@Pup Fan, thank you! OMG you just reminded me of those posters from the 70s (I had one!) with the cat hanging and it said "Hang In There, Friday's coming!!" LOL!

Caren Gittleman said...

@Diane, yep we just gotta believe!

@Kelly you are most welcome and THANK YOU! That means so much! Happy New Year to you too!

Stacy and Ellie said...

Thanks for the inspirational Wednesday message! :)

@Stacy and Ellie you are most welcome! I sure needed it myself so I pulled it out, dusted it off and decided to share! :)

Hannah and Lucy said...

How true that picture is although through words and/or actions it is possible to make someone feel smaller.

Max the Quilt Cat said...

I love that illustration...

pawhugs, Max

Caren Gittleman said...

@Hannah and Lucy, that is very, very true...that is why WE have the power to control our thoughts about ourselves when we look in the mirror. Other people's words to demean us only have power if we allow them to have power. I know what you mean because I do have to constantly remind myself of what I just said to you! (((((hugs))))

Caren Gittleman said...

@Max, I do too! so very, very much! Thanks!!

We (my husband and I) were always convinced that our large Snowshoe Siamese--the one who had enough "catitude" for three cats--fancied himself as a mighty jaguar... and that, if only he'd been an outdoor instead of an indoor boycat, he would've scaled the tallest trees, and brought down the choicest prey with his incredibly-muscular paws. (Of course, we were also positive that he "spoke" with a voice that sounded just like Sean Connery, so... heaven only knows if we were even in the ballpark, lol!) He was actually only somewhat-interested in seeing himself in the mirror, though.

Boomer, on the other hand, talks to himself in the mirror several times every single day... and all we can think is that each time he's asking, once again, "Who IS that good-lookin' boycat?!?". (And no, he doesn't sound like a Scot... ;D)

careers4YourCat said...

Caren, I love that! And it so applies to us humans. Now when I look in the mirror, I will see a supermodel! LOL! (if I don't answer, it is because I am talking to my booking agent! )

But seriously, we should all take this to heart. Thank you for sharing!

Caren Gittleman said...

@GlamKitty thanks so much for sharing that adorable story. I love Snowshoe kitties...we almost adopted one once and she had QUITE the personality!! One of the reasons we didn't adopt her was that she hated me but LOVED my husband (he likes cats but isn't obsessed with them like I am)....Snowshoes have wonderful personalities.
OMC Boomer actually talks to himself in the mirror? That is hilarious! You need to video that!

Caren Gittleman said...

@catsparella, thanks much! I do too!!

@Careers4YourCat ok now I wouldn't go THAT far! MOL!! (I mean that at ME not YOU! lol)
You are welcome!!!

Thanks to all for visiting!
