It mixes previously successful aspects of American Idol:
- sugary sweet contestant background stories
- the three judge format (that "Idol" originally started with), Paula still occupies the middle judges seat as she did on "Idol" and exudes the same warmth and caring (minus the large dose of ditziness) that endeared her to her fans.
- Auditions, final cuts, you know, the usual Reality TV entertainment competition "formula"

I am not a fan of American Idol but I do like Paula's warmth comments to the contestants.
Idol had a couple of good years over here. Now it's not so successful. I never got into the Dance reality shows.

@Priscilla, you can't watch the cat one at the bottom or the one at the top? (or both??) Let me check them again. They worked well when I first loaded them. I like Paula's warmth too....I doubt I will be watching Idol much this year but I am not sure.
@Alittlesprite I was never into the Dance shows either, I just started watching "Dancing With The Stars" about 2 seasons ago....that is the main one that i watch but I did check out Paula's new show.
Yay for the kitty Michael Jackson!!! I will always and forever love Paula Abdul for her Straight Up video - it's a classic and was completely new and different when it first came out!! So all the best with her new show!!

Stopped watching idol when they went to 4 judges, but hope Paula does well. Shake it girl.
We've never seen American Idol, but we do know who Paula is...there's not much better than a good happy dance!

@Mrs.Tuna, I wasn't thrilled when it went to 4 judges either and I am waaaay less thrilled with the 2 judges they have added this year (at least at this point I am) I am doubting I will even watch it regularly and I used to be addicted to it!

Our Mom is too old to be a fan of American Idol. She tried to watch it. But the video of Michael Jackson made her laugh a lot. That is too cute. Now she is trying to figure out how to teach us to do that. Good luck.

I used to love AI but now without Simon, I just don't know if I'll watch. Paula does seem more in her element with the new show and I really like it so far!
