Hi Caren! As a cat expert, you might be able to help me... My little Avalon has been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism this weekend and I really can use all the advice I can get concerning alternative treatments, food to avoid etc.

@Priscilla THANK YOU! Also I am glad you liked the link :) I was thinking of you this morning. I was just making a broccoli salad to bring to a BBQ this afternoon and I was stirring dressing. Dakota doesn't like when I stir and he barks. I said "Nice boy!!" and he stopped (that is what I do at night before he gets a treat before bed, he barks if Cody gets a treat first so I say "Be a nice boy" and it works) lol. Thanks for the tip!

@Mario yep 90. Trust me , I am NOT amused lol. I don't do well in this kind of heat due to my chronic kidney stones (medullary sponge kidneys)....we have to go to a BBQ. I told my husband we may only stay no more than an hour or hour and a half if the entire thing is outside. I will never make it in that kind of heat. I don't like summer anymore, (or I should say super hot temps), because of my kidneys. We will eat and run! MOL!!!
I will try and get to the blogs this evening (I am hoping that I can but I am not sure)...if not...I will be reading them tomorrow night! I haven't been deliberately not coming around!

I am soooo sorry to hear about Avalon's diagnosis. What does the vet say? My advice is DO NOT GOOGLE IT. My vet advised that I NEVER Google medical conditions because they will scare the daylights out of you. I have some readers whose cats also have hyperthyroidism and they may have advice for you. Neither of my cats had it so I am not knowledgeable at all about it. There are a couple people you may want to contact on Facebook if you haven't already, Darlene Arden (who wrote "The Complete Cat's Meow" and Ingrid King who wrote "Buckley Story"...both of them are quite well-versed in various feline health issues. If you contact them, tell them I sent you. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
Oh my gosh, that is so cute and hilarious. I laughed every time the cat meowed. Not a bad way to start the day, on a Tuesday when you're all discombobulated and thinking it is Monday. MOL.
